I'm Dorothy Balabanos, President of DJB Communications Group. Since 2001, I have worked with more than 60 clients on hundreds of successful communications, marketing, and training programs. I work with all kinds of organizations—Fortune 500 companies, small and mid-sized businesses, agencies, universities, and other educational institutions. I can team up with a client's own internal resources or as needed, partner with a strategic alliance of highly skilled and experienced strategists, designers, writers, web developers, learning and performance specialists, and market researchers.
My career in communications and marketing spans more than 25 years, beginning in account management at Leo Burnett, FCB, and DDB Needham. I directed internal and external communications for Covia (United Airlines' computer software subsidiary) and Caremark (a healthcare provider). I also led strategic communications initiatives for Caribiner International and Jack Morton Worldwide.
As a member of DePaul University's part-time faculty, I teach advertising, marketing, new media, organizational culture and media studies in the College of Communication and the School for New Learning. I have served on several Dean's Advisory Boards and am the recipient of the DePaul Engage award, which recognizes faculty who make a significant positive impact on the lives of DePaul students. I also am involved in literacy programs for low income children.
I graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in English and an M.S.J. in Advertising from the Medill School of Journalism. As a lifelong learner, I have completed the necessary course work for a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies from DePaul University.
